The Town of Essex is conducting an Animal Licensing Canvassing Program to educate the public on the benefits of licensing while ensuring the proper licensing of dogs. The Town of Essex Animal Control By-law requires that all dog owners obtain an annual Dog Tag License.
The Town is looking for a number of Animal Licensing Officials (Canvassers) to be hired on a temporary basis to visit residents door-to-door. The Canvassers will educate dog owners on the benefits of licensing and allow those residents to purchase dog licenses from their own homes.
This role will require the ability to travel throughout the Town. Good customer service and excellent communications skills are required, along with the ability to collect accurate information and process purchases.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Interested applicants will be required to obtain a police clearance. If method of travel is by vehicle, then a valid driver’s license and drivers abstract will also be required. The cost of police clearance and drivers abstract will be reimbursed.
