Colchester Harbour - Waiting List Request

The following is for potential seasonal berthage at the Colchester Harbour located at the foot of 100 Jackson Street, Colchester.

Please Note the following:

• Currently (as of 1/1/23) slip minimum charge length for Dock A, Far (South side) of B & C is 25', Short (North side) of B dock is 15' and Dock D is 30'.
• All docks are hydro and water serviced slips.
• All requests are for permanent FULL SEASON ONLY; no transient requests submitted through this form will be contacted.
• Upon a seasonal slip opening, the Facility Clerk and/or Harbour Manager will proceed to contact those next in line on the town's harbour waiting list firstly by phone call to the number submitted with a follow-up email to the email submitted.
• If no answer is received or if the number is disconnected following 3 days of initial request, 1 additional call and email will be attempted prior to proceeding on to the next submitted request.
• Following the annual seasonal deadline for the return for upcoming year, in February the Facility Clerk will commence contact with waiting list Requestors (as decribed above) commencing at the top of the wait list. If a Requestor is not interested in the upcoming season but wishes to remain on the waiting list, they will be moved to the bottom of the list; alternatively, if they are no longer interested, they will be removed from the list and the Facility Clerk will proceed accordingly.
• Under extenuating circumstances (i.e. border restrictions) seasonal boat owners may vacate their seasonal slip by notification through the Facility Clerk and/or Harbour Manager, at which time, their slip will be used as a monthly rental through the town and wait list Requestors will again be notified of a temporary monthly availibility with no loss of placement on the waitlist. 
• Commencing in 2026, names will be rotated for 3 years only and if no reply or asking to remain on list, will be removed and requestor will have to resubmit a new form if they wish a slip in the future.
• All Temporary Monthly placements will be required to complete a waiver stating they are aware of the temporary arrangement and have no right to the seasonal recall process in following years and further, will be required to submit all requested forms, applications, terms and conditions, proof of pleasure craft license and valid insurance as set out by the town together with up-front full payment.

Please note, once this form is received and you have been advised of an available slip in the harbour by the the Facility Clerk you will be required to submit additional support documentation plus payment in full for the allocated boat slip.

Documentation will include, but is not limited to: proof of not less than $2,000,000 liability insurance naming the Town of Essex, 33 Talbot Street South, Essex, ON, N8M 1A8 as additional insured for the term of the harbour season, proof of boat registration in your name as issued by the appropriate Ministry of Transporation and a completed set of Terms and Conditions.

Payments and documentation can be dropped off at the Harrow Arena 243 McAffee Street, Harrow (M-F 9am-4:30pm or the drop-box on outside wall 24/7) or the Essex Centre Sports Complex (Essex Twin Pad Arena) 60 Fairview Avenue West, Essex M-F 9am-4:30pm.
