Excellence in Essex Spotlight Nomination

The Excellence in Essex Spotlight series recognizes and celebrates employees who show exemplary achievement, contribution, or performance beyond their regular duties which are in alignment with the Town’s core values:

1. Respect: Even when we do not agree with each other, we are committed to demonstrate through our actions, words and body language that we value each other's opinions, perspectives and areas of expertise. We will always ensure a safe, judgement-free environment to share all opinions/perspectives, and we will come prepared to all meetings/sessions because we value each other's time and effort.
   
   
2. Humility: We are committed to being open-minded with each other and listen to each other because we recognize that none of us has all the answers. We recognize we all need each other, and we commit to "check our ego at the door". 
   
   
3. Integrity: We are committed to working together to do the right things in the right ways - even when it is difficult. We are motived to do this because our common goal is to serve our community to the best of our abilities.
   
   
4. Trust: We will be diligent in continuing to forge strong working relationships because we know that trust is the foundation for positive collaboration and effective local government. When times get tough, we will demonstrate by our actions that we always have each other's back.
   
   
5. Ethical: We will constantly strive to make decisions and take actions that are in the best interests of the entire community. We value equity, inclusiveness, empathy, transparency and honesty, and will ensure that our actions reflect these values.
   
   
6. Resilient: We recognize that we will face difficult times and we are committed to working together to build a strong leadership team that can accept/embrace the facts; persevere through hard times; adapt to change; and remain steadfast in achieving positive results for our community.
